Looking for Awesome Christmas Houses on L.I.

Can we get some suggestions for Lit up Houses for the Christmas Season? Breathtaking, or Over the Top Tacky Kitch. Let's hear about your favorite Long Island Yule house. Please list location with minimal directions if necessary.

I will open the gambit....
Take the 135 South and get off at Powell Avenue in Bethpage. At the stop sign make a right turn onto Powell. Sorry I don't know the street number  but it's either the second or third street on your right side (Westerly or Ott Street)  off of Powell. Either street is a dead end and only has about 4 houses on each side so you really can't go too wrong. ( the house is almost visible from the corner before you make the turn.) It is decorated to the MAX! - We go every year but we are looking for some new adventures- Can you guys help?

  1. There are 2 houses off Deer Park Rd headed toward Babylon. They are truly incredible. One has made his own decorations complete with fiber optic lights and Disney quality moving characters. Santa comes out on Christmas Eve and gives out candy canes. We go every year. I think the street is Liberty St but it is also visible from Deer Park Rd.

  3. South of the LIE on the east side of Deer Park Rd. This year we are veturing to Dyker Heights, Brooklyn who was featured on the travel channel for their holiday decor.

  4. Here are some of my favorites, all local. I'll group them by area.

Plainview, bounded by 135, OCR, S. Oyster Bay Road, Woodbury Rd. Maxine Av. near Pasadena: A 25 foot tall tree decorated with red and green lights and a star on top. Corner of Munster and Wensley, Ives Place, Winthrop south of Ives: All nicely decorated. Area bounded by S. Oyster Bay Road, Jamaica Av, Orchard Street, Island St/Forest: Numerous houses with fine decorations.

Plainview: Between 135, Southern Parkway, Central Park Drive, Northern Parkway. Numerous well decorated homes. Probably the best are on Cedar Drive.

Hicksville: Bounded by South Oyster Bay Road, Plainview Rd., Cliff Dr., Woodbury Road. Many nice homes, especially in the vicinity of Our Lady of Mercy Church. My favorite is on Amherst Lane; among other things there is a train running through the front yard. There are two excellent displays on Froehlich Farm Road. One has a star on the roof that is visible from the OLM parking lot.

Plainview/Bethpage. The area bounded by 135, OCR, S. Oyster Bay Road, Stewart Av., Cherry Av, Broadway has many nice houses. Probably the best in this area is at the corner of Devon Road and Derby Lane. There are a lot of shrubs in the front and they are beautifully lighted. There is a home on Silber worth mentioning; the lights go right out to the curb.

Suzala and Anon, thank you for your contributions. I will try to visit these sites this year.

  5. I'd like to add that the neighborhood in Hicksville right behind Our Lady of Mercy (South Oyster Bay Road) is the BEST area to go trick-or-treating in!!!!!
