FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION REFORM & ACCOUNTABILITY

This is a great website to go on to see how we are taking a backseat for our childrens educational priorities. This is just one of the articles on this website that every parent should read

"Analysis Identifies Weak Teacher Reforms Proposed in New York’s Race to the Top Application"

"what is booming is the public education industry. A recent Schenectady Daily Gazette editorial describes teachers and other public employees as having “become a privileged class.” The editorial notes that average education employee salaries exceeds the average worker outside of New York City and the job security, pensions, and health benefits are all more generous as well

  1. Dear BOE, PCT, & Mr Rosenfeld
As a tax paying resident and parent of a child in our school district , I am disgusted everytime I look at my school tax bill. No matter how much I may like some of my child's teachers the fact still remains that you have acted fiscally irresponsible in regards to the best interest of everybody in this community. There is nothing that will convince me to vote for this budget. Unless you get a reality check by a rejected budget, nothing will change. The percentage that the school budget is going up is going directly into the pockets of the PCT and their members. We are getting nothing in return except knowing that we are feeding an uncontrollable monster(the PCT)whos only concern is enriching their members with no regard for the effect it has on the community. So on election night know that if this budget and the surplus fund get voted down, it is you who is to blame for your reckless disregard for the best interests of our children and the residents of Plainview. I consider your actions all about business so consider my decision to vote this down nothing personal, just business. I can only hope that the non-incumbent residents who are running for the board will act in a more responsible manner when they have successfully been elected to the BOE this year. Now is the time to voters to wake up and demand change and reform in our dysfunctional school district
