If Only......

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Justified raises":

Our results suck

On paper we don't compare to those districts -

If so , my house would be worth 30-40K more

ed's note: Test scores math and ELA: percent scoring a four(4)
Grade 3 Syosset (2 different schools)ELA 31/32% Pasadena (for example) 11%
Syosset Math 48/48% Pasadena 29%
Grade 4 Syosset ELA 34/34% Pasadena 23%
Math 75/58% Pasadena 53%
Grade 5 Syosset ELA 95/57% Pasadena 23%
Please note that Syosset scores in Math were also greatly increased as compared to last year, coinciding with the new "easier" test.

  1. Stratford scores weren't much better - and probably won't be since the 3rd and 4th grade kids at Stratford aren't getting ELA test prep books like they are at Pasadena, Old Beth and Parkway

  2. I would like to know why the teachers feel hurting the parents and children in this community by refusing to hang up the kids class projects and assignments, as well as shutting the parents out of celebrations,is an appropriate way of dealing with their problems? Additionally does that mean they are not doing the work they have always done in the past? Having been in the district many years, had they come to the parents and stated their reasons for objecting to the contract in a reasonable manner they possibly would of gained some support for their cause. Instead they have lost our faith in their abilitiies to teach our children and no matter what the turnout, they will not get that back from any parent who has watched this insane juvenile treatment of the families who had supported their salaries.
