Stop Bashing and Work With Us

Morton Rosenfeld has left a new comment on your post "Where's the Education?":

The only place in Plainview to find serious talk about education is at the PCT website at pobct.org. We were talking about the low level of the state assessments when Diane Ravitch was still singing their praises. We said that the state tests held the danger to dumb things in Plainview down, and that's exactly what has happened. If some of the people on this blog would stop bashing us and start working with us, we could improve this district significantly. The way things are going,we are in danger of becoming a test prep district.

  1. You want us to work with you?
How about you come back to the BOE and re-negotiate the unreasonable contract that you demanded on the backs of the residents.

  2. the contract was not unreasonable, it was a fairly mediated contract whixh was in line with what other districts got.

  3. You are blurring the lines of 2 separate issues. The quality of education in this town and the price we are paying for the mediocore education we receive. The teachers spoke out loud and clear when the issue was lining their pockets but I don't see one teacher fighting so hard or picketing for the quality education in this town. You want us to work with you, but you angered the people you want support from when you started your dirty campaign in the fall. Were you working with us then? Perhaps Mr. Rosenfeld you can show some good faith in this town and gain the support of its constituents by offering a freeze in pay in the next contract. The horse and pony show you put on at the Board meeting during contract negotiations did not represent the majority of this district who was disgusted and angered by the tone and position the PCT set. You need our support more than we need yours, do the right thing and don't go down the same road you have already traveled. That path will only send the PCT down a dark and lonely road to turmoil. Do the right thing by the residents of Plainview and maybe, just maybe we will be able to work with you.
