"Lets not blast the education profession"?
I don't' maintain this blog but thank goodness its here or Plainview would have no voice at all.
The education profession, while noble has departed from reasonableness. I am not bashing education. Quite the contrary, I am speaking in defense of other professions which earn far less but are still expected to generate an income which pays for education (through real estate taxes).
The picketing, empty class walls and buttons were a turning point for me and others. Do you honestly think that any community would respond favorably to that kind of unprofessional-ism?

I received an email from the PTA that the BOE is looking to lift the cap on the number of collaborative students in classes. This is no good for our children or even the teachers. Once again the BOE is looking to do something that is not in the childrens best interest as they once promised. If there are too many collaborative students in one class this will be unfair to the collaborative students , the other students , and the teachers . Students will not get the proper attention that they need to learn in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteget over what happened in the fall - we need to turn the page and move on
ReplyDeleteteachers did their union thing - parents didn't like it
the contract got done - maybe not as barebones are the community wanted - but not as generous as the teachers originally wanted
but no matter what you have to admit that the teacher youtubes were very inventive and well done
now if we can just get the teachers to make youtubes about math, English, Science and Social Studies for our kids to watch to help them with their homework
that would be something
