POB Community Stands Together

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Teachers; Wake Up Call":

Let's get real here, why would a teacher who has TENURE leave this gauranteed job in this economy, you know the one where people are getting laid off or asked to take pay cuts and pay more for their health care. The teachers would just rather B&%ch and Moan that they are underpaid and hope they can be a nuisance enough to get the community to put pressure on board of ed., well we know how that's working out for them. The teachers have misjudged the community, they've glavanized the community.

  1. When will the negotiations be considered at an impasse and go to the The Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) for mediation?

  2. The POB TEACHERS make a video saying they are one of the lowest paid teacher districts in Nassau county.

IF they do not like it Leave and get a teaching job somewhere else.

Plenty of NYC TEACHERS that make less then POB teachers will gladly work at POB and would not have the winey deservant attitude.

  3. Have you forgotten that teachers are people who are members of this and similar communities? They have families, bills, mortgages, health care costs and unemployed spouses just like the rest of the country. My children are learning and happy. Why direct this anger towards a group of people who devote their lives and talent to your children, because they want to be treated fairly? Well don't you?

  4. Treated fairly? Uninviting class parents to Halloween parties is fair? Ruining class photos with contract now buttons is fair? Not hanging up childrens work is fair? You have a strange sense of fair. This group of devoted people have done the above. They are devoted to their self interests.
