Another Thread-I'm New Here, Can You Recommend a Good Restaurant in POB?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "A No-Show in a Strattford Classroom":

I would like to start a new topic-but I don't know how-I hope you don't put that sentence in and just start a new topic

My family and I moved into Old Bethpage during the summer. We would like to find out what restaurants people recommend. They could be in the neighborhood or surrounding neighborhoods.

Thank you for your help.

Ed's note: A little food break here....Butera's on Jericho Tpk, Italian, huge servings,VG food, child friendly (menu), a bit noisy entrees 14+. Laguna Grill right next door, Tex Mex, good food, child friendly. Anyone else care to chime in?

  1. Laguna Grill is so NOT tex mex. AS ZAGAT Says:
A "fun calypso atmosphere" sets the
    stage at this "innovative"
    Nuevo Latino. The "interesting
    menu" features "pleasantly spiced"
    fare with "Caribbean flair",and
the "service is excellent". And it is very child friendly! For Tex Mex try Panchos Border Grill in Bethpage.

  2. Quick and easy with kids/cheap/take out -
For pizza that's a meal - Monte's for widest selection and most original slices including whole wheat and several grilled vegetable choices(on Old Bethpage Road close to Spagnoli Road in shopping center with Post Office) - full dining available also

Raimos Pizza (on Woodbury Road west of South Oyster Bay Road)thick, hearty slices, decent selection of specialty slices, grilled eggplant wrap and eggplant parm are great - takeout portions are generous and reasonably priced

Lunch time serve yourself chopped salad - make your own selection from a wide listing at Town Bagel (shopping center on Old Country Road and Old Bethpage Road) - always fresh

Bagel Boss (South Oyster Bay Road and Woodbury Road - Wlagreens shopping center) - fresh bagels 24/7 and the best blintzes, salad and soup bar but kosher dairy restrictions

Fairway (Manetto Hill Road) for cheap sushi and the best baguettes

    Family night out:
Cheescake Factory - 110 at Walt Whitman Mall

Fanatico - Italian - (106/107 north of IKEA in shopping center)

Main Event - sports bar Old Country Road west of 135 - most TVs per square inch - good salads and appetizers

Laguna Grill has some special where kids eat free

La Famiglia - (Old Country Road east of 135) - basic Italian but best service for large table (10+), very noisy

Smaller and Quieter Sit Down -
Haiku for great sushi (Jericho Turnpike shopping center - east of South Woods Road - with Woodbury Pizza and Neils clothing)

Cirella's (110 between Northern State and LIE) Italian food

Buteras (Woodbury)- try the chicken meatballs!
